The proposed development covers approx. 109ha in the townlands of Mogullaun, Culleen, Drumline, Crossagh, Rathlaheen South and Ballycasey Beg in Co Clare. The capacity of Mogullaun is approx. 84.44 MWp, Clare County Council granted this project in 2025
Pre-planning studies confirmed the viability of the proposed Mogullaun Solar Farm, carefully assessing visual, noise, and other local impacts. Planning permission was granted in 2025, advancing the project toward construction with a targeted operational date of 2030.
Mogullaun will generate approximately 81,000 MWh of renewable energy annually—enough to power approx. 19,000 average Irish homes—while offsetting approx. 18,100 tonnes of CO₂ yearly, equivalent to removing approx. 6,580 cars from the roads. This supports Ireland’s target to reach climate neutrality by 2050 Climate Action Plan
